F.A.Q.

Who is this workshop for? This experience is for the amateur to professional portrait and wedding photographer who wishes to define their unique style and rise above the mundane. You must have command of your equipment and know basic photography principles.

How much does the workshop cost, and what does it include? If you sign up for a workshop by April 15th it is $800 for the Scottsdale Workshop and $1000 for the Paris Workshop. After that the cost is $1000 for the 2 Day Scottsdale Workshop and $1200 for the 2 Day Paris Workshop. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for each attendee. We will have an optional dinner together the first evening of each workshop. This dinner is highly recommended as it gives the group the opportunity to enjoy a pressure free atmosphere to bond and ask anything you want of Keith and each other, please plan on attending.

Where should I stay? The Scottsdale Workshop is taking place at The Saguaro Hotel, a hip little gem in Old Town Scottsdale with special room rates for attendees of our workshop. There are many other affordable options in the greater Scottsdale area.

The Paris Workshop is taking place on Rue Vivienne in the 2nd arrondissement – walking distance to Opera, close to Place Vendome, The Louvre, the Palais Royal and the Tuileries Garden. There are many hotels in Paris in all price ranges. Another option is renting an apartment through Homeaway.com or VRBO.com and TripAdvisor.com is a great resource.

Where do I fly into and how do I get to the workshop? The Scottsdale Workshop: If you are traveling from out of town, you will want to fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX). The workshop will take place at The Saguaro Hotel in Old Town Scottsdale, a short 15 minute ride from the airport via taxi or rental car.

The Paris Workshop:  If you are traveling from out of town, you will want to fly into Charles De Gaulle (CDG) or Orly Airport (ORY). The workshop is located in Paris’ 2nd Arrondissement, easily accessible via train or taxi from either airport.  The closest Metro stops to the workshop location: Bourse, Grands Boulevards and Richelieu Drouot (lines 3, 8 and 9) Bus : 20 – 39 – 48 – 67 – 74 – 85.

What is our schedule? We highly encourage getting together the evening before the 2 Day workshop for drinks and discussion. We will begin both days at 9AM with a light breakfast and discussion. From about 9:30AM – 5PM we will incorporate lecture topics, hands-on shooting and one one one time with each participant. The exact workshop schedule is determined by the available light and the best time to shoot on location.  The first day of the workshop, we highly encourage joining us for dinner,  while this is completely optional, we feel the informal surroundings are a great way to keep the conversation going!

What topics will be covered? the concept of an improvisational style from far away and upclose, the definition of photography unscripted, philosophy of pricing, professional practices, the similarities between street photography and wedding & portrait photography, a portfolio review, a website critique, personal-to-you feedback on where your work suggests you may best be able to market and brand toward a speciality, and much, much more!

What types of payments are accepted? We accept credit cards and checks. The non-refundable 50% deposit is due at registration and the balance is due 15 days prior to the workshop start date.
